Code of Conduct
MEMBERS RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Being a member of the Essendonians comes with rights and responsibilities to yourself, your peers and the Essendonians in general.
MEMBERS HAVE A RIGHT TO:
- Be treated fairly, equally and with respect by the Essendonians, its Committee and other members.
- Be in an environment free from all forms of harassment and discrimination.
- Privacy and confidentiality concerning records, documents and any other communication that contains their personal information.
- Be informed and actively involved in all events organised by the Essendonians
- Voice their opinions and requirements for themselves and the Essendonians through democratic procedure.
MEMBERS HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY TO:
- Treat other members fairly, equally and with respect.
- Follow any reasonable direction or requirement given by a Committee member of the Essendonians.
- Behave responsibly at times and set an example for the football and wider community.
- Not physically or verbally harass others. (Fight, argue, ridicule, threaten, stalk etc.)
- Not discriminate against any person.
- Not damage, steal or misuse Essendonians property.
- Not be under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs.
- Not use offensive language or suggestions. (Swearing, gestures etc.)
- Follow all safety practices and requirements.
- Refrain from behaviour that could offend or embarrass others.
- Not make or participate in any commentary or proffer an opinion on Essendonian or Essendon Football Club activities or issues in any public forum or social media network without the written authorisation of the President of the Essendonian Committee.

- Maintain the harmony and good name of the Essendonians and its members.
- You will maximise the benefits of membership with the Essendonians by not only involving yourself in its events but also contributing to its activities and its future
BREECHES OF THE ESSENDONIANS CODE OF CONDUCT
- Conflict brought about by any breech of the Essendonians “Code of Conduct” by any member needs to be resolved calmly and with honesty, dignity and confidentiality.
- Where and when needed, the Essendonians through its Committee reserves the right to make decisions and enforce fair and appropriate measures to resolve a dispute within these areas of discipline or conflict.
- Any observed or reported breech of the Essendonians “Code of Conduct” by any member will be investigated, discussed and dealt with by the Committee by either a reprimand, suspension or the revoking of membership of the Essendonians.
